
Client: Veterans Health Administration Office of Healthcare Innovation and Learning
In 2023 and 2024, I served as the sole designer for VHA’s State of Innovation Report, a comprehensive annual publication highlighting the innovations throughout the year. I developed a veteran-first approach to this publication’s design, featuring original imagery and photos submitted by real veterans, replacing the previous stock imagery and generic look.
Aligning closely with VHA branding, I was responsible for concept development, art direction, photoshoots, and custom illustrations to convey the life-altering work happening every year within the VHA. The 100+ page publication was distributed in print and is accessible online in 508-complaint format. In addition, I created a campaign of awareness materials to support the readership of the publication, including flyers, social media, take away cards, and web graphics.
For our creative contribution to VHA’s 2024 State of Innovation report, I earned a Platinum MarCom Award for publication design.
